The brand reverie could relate to girls who want to break out and release their feisty side or for others who want to find their feminine side. Either way reverie are devoted to its customers and just wants every girl to feel, sexy, feminine and powerful.

The competition could be...

River island

Blue Banana

Monsoon

Watch out! This could be your view in the future driving down the motorway!

REVERIE my brand identity!

The brand reverie is based on my own journey of fashion, from growing up as a tomboy with lots of attitude to evolving into an elegant and feminine woman. This project was almost an experiment to find out exactly who I was, finding my balance between my feisty and sensitive side. Every woman has that girlish imagination but still craves that womanly power and sexiness. Reverie is a mixture between attitude, elegance and dreams. As my tag is

'It's so wrong it's right'

My new ranges of fashion are dresses which include every girl’s fantasies as a child, of being that stunning princess but with added attitude. The dresses themselves are very busy, almost as if they are a dress full of dreams but also extremely sexy.

I'm hoping the brand reverie will relate to girls who want to break out and release their feisty side or for others who want to find their feminine side. Either way referie are devoted to its customers and just wants every girl to feel, sexy, feminine and powerful.

My design for American Apparel's new clothing line!

My dress design could possibly be a new trend for American Apparel? As all their clothing is very simple but has such attitude. Maybe this new line of clothing can attract more customers because of the more girlish charm and boldness like the brand Heatherette.

American Apparel is an Industrial Revolution.

American Apparel has a very unique style of clothing, although each garment is very simple it still sends off an incredible amount of sex appeal. The picture on the left is part of their new styles rage, the shirt and skirt is very bland but the skirt is styled to sit on the waist therefor becomes very short. The contrast between the two garments creates a smart look but makes the woman look extremely powerful showing off her long legs.

American Apparel is based in Los Angeles, they currently employ 10,00 people globally with more than 285 retail stores in 20 countries.

Within the business, knitting, cutting, sewing, dyeing, photography, distribution, design and marketing all happen in the company’s facilities in LA. The company operates the biggest garment factory in America. Recently opening stores in China they are selling ‘Made in USA’ clothing in the largest consumer market in the globe.

H&M Review

Unfortunatly I don’t have an H&M store in my hometown but when I moved to Plymouth I was shocked to find the clothes exactly my style, my fit , my colours, it was as if the clothes were all made for me! I’ve never really liked any of the high fashion stores as the styles don’t really fit me and are too expensive but H&M really matches with what I want. The picture’s in my past posts are of me wearing a H&M jack and trousers, the jacket has nearly lasted me 2 years and has only just started to look worn down, the trousers aren’t the best of quality but trousers in general is flattering on my figure and surprisingly comfortable (I know they don’t look it at all!) The prices are amazing, especially for myself in a student budget. The sizes aren’t always right but I don’t mind going sizes up or down as long as I find what I want in the end.

In every store they have a department called ‘young trends’ this is where I find everything I like, the clothes are very edgy and just stink of attitude!

The logo is very simple but is still very memorable as a brand title, looking at their website the main tabs are on the left in a column where the main image(s) appear in the centre. What is different than other fashion website is that H&M have a style guide, which shows which clothes celebrities are wearing and what’s new this season. What is unusual is that not all the clothes are H&M clothing, but this makes the brand look trustworthy, trying to interact with their customers and not just showing off their clothing. From a customer’s point of view this makes the brand look respectable

Hetherette review

Heatherette fashion is like dropping down a psychedelic rabbit hole, each garment is completely over the top with glitter, different fabrics, vibrant colours and volume.

I first found out about Heatherette fashion when I watch the show Super Sweet 16 on MTV, the main star Tayenna needed a dress for her party and asked makers Richie Rich and Traver Rains to design a fun girly dress for her (right picture) the dress was so wrong it was right! It clung to her waist surrounded by different fruit which was painted pinks and oranges. To create the fullness is layers of orange and pink netting which increases the femininity of this dress. But to make sure this dress wasn’t a perfect barbie ballerina outfit there is only one strap, this adds an edgy factor to the dress. You can tell the designers but every inch of detail in for the person who’s going to wear it, the colours suit her skin colour so well and perfectly fit every curve on her body.

Heatherette are also a big part of the drag fashion industry. New York’s famous transvestite, Amanda Lepore who walked down the runway head to toe in Heatherette showed the fashion world what was about to take over. Then on Heatherette were bombarded with celebrities wanting personally made outfits for themselves.

What I like most about the brand is that each and every garment made show off the exact personality of the designers, I have research Richie and Traver and they both just want to have fun, look good and party. Watching documentaries on them I have seen that they really interact with the customer, founding out their inner beauty and what makes them them, which is how they start to design the garments. As a fashion student researching designers I respect these two men because you can see this is their passion and they don’t just do it for themselves as their goals are to create the perfect outfit spot on for their customers.

Plymouth street style report

Aaron

Ok, lets ignore all the writing on my friends face and concentrate on what he’s wearing. (I know it’s hard.) This is my friend Aaron Kennedy in a bar in Plymouth. The jacket he is wearing has been biased on a formal dinner jacket which has been transformed into a hip, trendy jacket. Reducing the sleeves already make this jacket look so much more casual and for a younger audience. The collar has been cut to a smaller curve as to not look so harsh and rigid, because the collar now curves but still carries on down to the centre of the jacket it flatters Aarons body shape because he has a tall long body anyway. The jacket still looks formal but compliments the contrast of the casual t-shirt underneath.

Added to this outfit is a belt with a completely different colour scheme, as the jacket and top are black and white the contrast of the red and blue really brightens up the outfit and shows off his personality. Without the belt I think this outfit would look very bland.

Sam

This is my friend Sam Bennettes at a bar called Voodo lounge in Plymouth. As you can see he is just wearing a plain white shirt, but what makes it so unique is the way the shirt is fitted to his body shape and how there are three buttons left undone. Just because of the open collar he has transformed this shirt to look extremely masculine, as it shows off part of his chest hair and the length of his neck. It’s amazing how something so suttle can send off so much sex appeal, as a man’s chest can be very sexy to women especially as there is only a part shown, this could be a tease to the opposite gender. (Like a woman’s cleavage from a males point of view.)

Added to the shirt is two necklaces, this makes Sam look very confident as not all men dare to wear necklaces as they are portrayed as such a feminine object. All this together shows that Sam dresses to look good, the necklaces are there for a purpose, he knows how to match accessories with clothing while looking extremely masculine.

The evidence of stalking Lady GaGa

Lady GaGa is a very daring woman and manages to pull off the most bizzare of clothing. I esspecialy love these trousers because even though they are completely crazy she has managed to make them look quite casual. Not sure how she manages to get them on though??

This dress makes my mind go crazy! Thinking about all the possibilities of how i can design different clothing using metal/tin. It's such a sleak and sexy material. Even though the material is solid the designer has shapped it so well to still make the dress fitted in the right places and show of those curves. Deffinalty something i am going to try out in the future!

This outfit reminds me alot of the clothing from the websites i have posted on this blog. I have tryed to research where the clothing has come from but can't find a thing. If anyone could find this out for me please let me know?!!

Lady Lucie

I am also in love with the clothing from this website because the outfits are fun and colourful, most people think that latex wear is black and just refers to sex but this website goes to show that you could wear latex anywhere! Apart from in the L.A. heat of course!

This is one of my favourite dresses because the style is like a typical high street fashion garment but instead has an edgy sexy factor to it. The latex clings to the body and gives off a shiny glare.

Photoshoot with doubletake studios

I had so much fun doing this photoshoot! The only downfall was that i wish they had a more suitable set comparison to the outfits i was wearing. Would be amazing to do a shoot infront of a stage or (going completely out there) drinking with a band like KISS!!

Couldn't resist! :p With a leather jacket, you don't really need anything else!

Victoria Secret do latex!

I randomly found this on an internet forum so i'm not sure which Victoria Secret runnway show this is from.
BUT whoever created this sexy piece of LATEX laugerie is a genius! The way the panels gracefully curve into a point shows off all the right curves on this model, although the latex material looks very thin so i'm not sure how the stockings have held up on her legs without rolling down! Personaly i think there's some double sided sticky that is part of this outfit! :p

Amazing latex costumes

Nina Kate

Nina Kate is a Bizarre cover girl as well as designing fetish wear for her own company, here she is wearing her own design from Jane Doe Latex.

The clothing Nina designs are very distinctive because she uses, fur, feathers, skulls and beaks along side latex which create weirdly beautiful outfits.

I have a few latex designs i would love to create, but the only downfall is i don't have any experience using that material.

Also on Nina's website there is a dollmaker which allows you to create your own doll and latex outfit! I think this is a fantastic idea as it has given me alot of inspiration, but also just fun to create myself in latex gear ;)

Dollmaker

This latex jacket is my FAVOURITE of all Nina Kate's designs, the stripes make it look so bold and because of the material i love how fitted it is to make it look so feminine.
Unfortunatly unless i conjure up £450 i can only stare at this picture :(
As Wayne Cambell once said, 'she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine!'
